Theme of the Month - May 2021

Purge | Organize | Vibrate (Higher)

POV May 2021

My theme this month is POV which is an acronym I made up for Purge | Organize | Vibrate (higher). This cleansing process includes but is not limited to my thoughts, my space and my movements. I recently dropped a few things off my plate that were weighing me down and WHEW CHILE! The relief! We’re halfway through the month of May and I am well pleased! I have received so many positive responses to May’s theme from my Instagram followers. If you’re ready to implement POV into your life ask yourself these questions:

What is weighing me down?

What makes my soul smile?

How can I improve my physical and emotional spaces in order to vibrate higher?

Tip: Start thinking about your theme for June now. This month will be gone before we know it, and the last thing we want to do is rush into the new month without a plan. Let’s be intentional about setting our goals in advance.

Podcast Update

We’re Peace’n Out!

I know I owe y’all a couple episodes by now. But, to be overly transparent, I was battling with a decision and finally came to a conclusion. I’m hanging up my podcast boots at the end of Season 2, which is quickly approaching. There are three more guest episodes left to drop for y’all and then I am DONE! And by done, I mean done-done. Scratching the podcast was legit the first thing on my POV to-do list, and since I’ve made the decision I feel soooo much lighter.

Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed so much of podcasting life, but things didn’t add up for full-joy. Here are the main reasons I’m hanging up my podcast boots:

  1. It’s too labor intensive for me alone. Recording, editing, producing, marketing etc… too much! Especially for someone like me who’s particular about quality and presentation.
  2. I feel disconnected from my audience. I can’t experience the engagement like I do on my social media channels. Sure, I see the stats and I know that people are listening; however, not being able to read comments or hear reviews easily is problematic for me. I certainly don’t expect people to leave their listening platform just to write a comment on my website or social media. That’s too much to ask or expect these days. Keep in mind that I’m speaking from the lens of an avid podcast listener as well. I might mean well, and plan to leave a pleasant comment after I listen to another podcast, but once the show is over I honestly forget lol. So if I’m doing it, I know my listeners are doing it too.
  3. With the time, energy and motivation depleting from my spirit, the Podcast certainly isn’t worth the cost of maintenance. Those coins can be saved or used for other projects. While it wasn’t crazy expensive, things were definitely adding up.

Dissolving the Podcast is just one example of how I’m using my theme of the month to better position myself for success. I’m getting rid of the pod, reorganizing my time for other things, and feeling freer and lighter because I’ve chosen to lessen my load.

Fear not! All the content that was pushed on the podcast will still be shared on social media. Guests will still join me to discuss hot topics, and I’ll continue to drop reviews on all my adventures. Most importantly, you’ll be able to engage in a more convenient way. Same content…different format…zero pressure.

All the audio episodes will be available until December 2021.

The Buy Black Corner...

Goldmine & Coco

Since my theme this month is all about organization, I figured I’d put you in touch with my new favorite stationery company, Goldmine & Coco. It’s the perfect place to pick up melanin-specific planners, stickers and journaling goodies. They just released a 90s pack, and a “Paris in Springtime” set as well. If you do end up purchasing be sure to use my affiliate link by clicking the photo on the right and be sure to enter the “TINGZNICE” discount code at checkout.

I know getting the hang of planners and stickers can seem labor intensive, but it’s the kind of labor that will really help you thrive and keep track of your movements… in a visually pleasing manner. Give it a whirl and let me know how it goes!

Shop DeepEnd

I recently partnered with Shop DeepEnd swimwear company…that’s right another Black owned business baby! DeepEnd is based out of Canada and is owned and operated by the beautiful Lisa Phillips. Before becoming a brand ambassador I was a faithful DE customer. The swimsuit designs were right up my lane, and supporting another sister in the carnival circle was a no brainer. Although the items are technically coming from outside the country, shipping is quick and the quality is on point. Oh, and let me not forget to mention that there’s stuff for men too! If you’re down to #TakeThePlunge, there’s no better time than the present. In fact I encourage you to hop on this month’s special.

The May Shop DeepEnd promo starts today! The promo runs through Sunday, May 16. Take this opportunity to get 15% off your order with FREE SHIPPING! This is a huge deal if you live in the U.S. because Canadian shipping prices are no joke. Don’t forget to enter “TINGZNICE” at checkout!

Femme Luxe Haul

I got my hands on a few pieces from Femme Luxe Finery again. Here’s what I have to share about my latest haul:

I love a good denim situation. My eyes fell in love with the Blue Half Denim Distressed Button Up Shirt Dress and the White Cropped Denim Jacket. I typically like to obtain items that can be dressed up or down. Sticking to something on either extreme can turn into a headache for my pockets and my brain. Both of these items are extremely comfortable and stylish. The shirt-dress can be pulled off as a jacket if styled just right. I also enjoy being able to pop the collar should the occasion call for it. The white denim jacket has the added flare of the puffy shoulders that makes it stand out from similar pieces on the market. If you’re into 80s or 90s fashion this piece is definitely for you.

The last item on my Femme Luxe haul is a pair of Black PU Faux Leather High Waisted Cuffed Joggers. Similar to the denim pieces I collected, these pants can be dressed up or down. I have a pair of leather converses that would go quite well with these snazzy pants. The first time I wore these pants I opted to pair them with some leather heels and a sheer camouflage top. Don’t let the draw strings deter you from buying these pants. With the RONA weight I’ve gained the strings and elastic band certainly came in handy. Unlike many people, I actually prefer drawstring pants over those that require belts anyway . It’s less of a hassle, and more convenient in my opinion. The pants were hella comfy and did not interfere with my day of moving about. I highly recommend them.

Be well friends. Enjoy the rest of your May, and remember to set those June goals from now!
